Play to earn

In Earths Edge we want our players to earn their attachments, guns, camos and EM-BR Modules by playing the game.

We’ve mentioned this before, but we are deliberately avoiding paid battle passes, time-limited event cosmetics and pre-order bonuses to focus on things that are accessible just by the initial purchase.

TL:DR: Play to earn.

Mission completion

Every mission you complete contributes to your account and class based progression. Experience is earned based on your team’s performance, including how effectively enemies are eliminated, overall accuracy, completed objectives, and other key factors.

Example EOR Screen (WIP)

Progress is only logged upon mission completion. It does not matter whether the mission is ultimately successful or not, but the majority of experience is earned through the completion of primary and secondary objectives.

The Shop

The ARK Shop is the central requisition hub for Scorchers aboard the ARK.

Here you'll be able to spend your earned credits to unlock new weapons for both Scorcher and EM-BR, camos, attachments and everything else needed on the battlefield.

As previously said, you'll only ever be able to earn credits via playing.

When playing non dynamic difficulty, be sure to play on your hardest comfortable difficulty to maximize credit gain!

Speaking of credit gain: The different costs of specific attachments is obviously highly WIP, and will be tweaked depending on feedback from the upcoming playtest.

Account Level

Increasing your account level unlocks the purchase of additional EM-BR modules in the ARK Shop. Whether this is an additional Hardpoint, more Armor or simply additional cosmetics is entirely up to you.

Fully customized EM-BR Unit in Tank Config

All classes share the same currently selected EM-BR Loadout, so it would only make sense to share the Account level as well.

Both piloting an EM-BR Unit and beeing on foot gain account exp, which will be granted upon mission completion.

Class Level

Upon Mission departure, you choose which class you want to play as during mission execution.

Your class levels up faster than your account. This means individual class progression is focused and responsive, allowing you to feel immediate growth as you play a specific role, while overall account and EM-BR progression develops more gradually over time.

Increasing your class level unlocks both new abilities and the option to purchase new equipment in the ARK Shop.

This includes new abilities, grenades, weapon attachments and additional Scorcher customization (in the future).

Mastery

Like previously discussed in a different blog post, weapon, class and EM-BR Mastery are also a thing in Earths Edge.

While Weapon Mastery is already implemented in the form of Mastery-Skins, EM-BR and Class Mastery are still actively in development and cannot be shown as of yet.

"Flashy" vs "Grounded" Mastery Rewards

While we are still deciding whether mastery rewards should lean toward more flashy skins or a more grounded visual style, our focus is on ensuring they feel meaningful and earned, regardless of presentation.

Open call - Voice Acting

We are currently still looking for voice artists who'd like to lend their voice to one of our playable classes!

Check out our open call post for all the details!
